Countdown
I am literally counting down the days to Shanghai. I'm so excited. I will be in a totally different continent. Asia. The Philippines doesn't count. Neither do stopovers in Japan or Korea. Maybe I'm so excited because I'm just sick of New York and the same routine. I need to do something totally different.

I've been learning some Mandarin but I really don't think I'll know as much as I wanted to.

I'm also excited because I'm a bridesmaid! Yay. This wedding is the most atypical I've ever encountered. The bridesmaids can wear whatever we want. Wei just requested that we wear a light sort of minty green. But even that wasn't set in stone because her cousin will be wearing a bluish green dress. The one concession we thought of, in terms of matching colors, would be for the best man/groom to wear the same color tie as his partner. So Reg will be wearing a light green. I guess Todd should wear a blue green tie but I'm not sure what's going on with him.

Ooh, and another development is that Wei was able to get Reg and me a 4 star hotel for the price of $18.75 a night. Amazing. That saves us sooo much money. At least $175! Wei's friend Wendy bought shoes for $4 each. So the money we save is definitely going towards shopping. To think of all the shoes I could buy with $175!

To digress, I went to the beach on Sunday with Angel and Reggie. It was HOT. Not as hot as today but the sun was just as relentless. The water was cold but invigorating. I had a heck of a time trying to get Angel to take a dip. But after 10 minutes of shivering, she was finally wet enough to enjoy the coldness of the water. It was a successful beach day, especially considering I got a nice tan. That night, to my delight, I was rosy-cheeked and had a golden glow. Unfortunately, by the next day some of the rosiness disappeared and the glow dimmed a little. That's it, I'm sunning some time this weekend. I can't let this glow die out! My tan will go nicely with the light green dress for the wedding.

11 days til Shanghai. 11 days of tan upgrading and maintenance.

Looking Forward
All I can think about is Shanghai right now. I want to get out of New York already!

Thank God the weather got much nicer.
