Many thanks
Thanks for all the birthday greetings through texts, IMs, Facebook, voicemails, etc! It's nice to be remembered.

Yesterday morning, I was exhausted from our gig the night before at Perlas.

But I was duly awakened by mother dear as she greeted me happy birthday and proceeded to recite a birthday poem. At which point I rolled over and groaned, pulling the pillow over my head. Then my not so little bro came in and also greeted my happy birthday, all the while affecting mom's pose (knees bent, hands clasped together) and accent (complete with squeals of delight). My family is a little weird. But very lovable. Mumsy kept nagging me to go out to the kitchen to eat something. So I went outside and came upon birthday balloons, flowers and cards. Did I mention my family was lovable?

G came down, had lunch with him and mom at Japanese. Whereupon, G tells the waitress that it was my birthday. Hence:

That white thing that the candles are on is some big ass radish. Quite unique, I must say.

Later on that afternoon, Rich coaxed me and G into going to Eddie's field in Fordham along with Billy for some football and softball throwing. I didn't do so bad. Rich said he expected worse. hahah. But he said I threw pretty well. I'm sure the "for a girl" phrase was tactfully left unsaid. Very diplomatic of you brother dear. Unfortunately, my coordination leaves much to be desired where softball hitting, catching, and running were concerned. One highlight was Billy catching a fly ball and then slipping and falling flat on his back. What did he slip on? A BANANA PEEL! That actually happens in real life??

And where did I spend my birthday dinner? Pugsleys! A pizza joint by Fordham. Was damned good too!

And finally, G and I met up with mom at Wuzz Up Cafe in Bergenfield where Kommon Ground had another gig. I wasn't planning on going to that gig, but they asked me to come by and I had nothing else planned for the rest of the night. So there I was!

A nice full day spent with people I love. What more could a girl ask for her birthday?
