When you want to get things done...
...do them yourself.
I don't know what I was thinking. I gave my recommendation forms to my former boss and a doctor I went to the DR with for the mission. I decided that it might be easier for them if I also gave them a stamped envelope so they could send it themselves instead of handing it over to me. This was the second week of September and the deadline was October 15th. I was confident that they'd have plenty of time to mail it in.
Yesterday, I called Pace University to check up on my application. As it turned out, they received everything BUT my recommendations. I almost had a heart attack! I immediately emailed both of them. My former boss emailed almost right away and said that he had a copy of the recommendation. Luckily, Pace accepts recommendations faxed over. I had to wait a couple of anxiety-filled hours before I heard from the doctor. He emailed that he never sent it in! Oh God. But he said he already had a letter finalized and that he would fax it.
I guess I'm going to have to call Pace again on Monday just to make sure. See, THIS is why I like doing things on my own, MY way. There's just too much room for things to go wrong when you have to depend on someone else.
Last night, Reg and I went out for Jen's birthday. Iguana as a lounge wasn't that bad, though I heard from Jen that the service in the restaurant area was pretty bad. It was great seeing everyone again and learning all the new things that are going on in their lives. AND I now have a wedding planner! Not like it'll be anytime soon but I'd been worrying about how I was going to pull a wedding in Boracay off when I had no clue where to get a wedding planner. The Internet was no helpat all.
Thank God for the Ongs. They are life savers. Literally! At least where nurse Jen is concerned. hahaha...Let's see, because of Jen I met JL who got me my wonderful job now. Because of them, I met their sister Johanna who helped Reg and me get a room at Shangri-la for a great price. And NOW Johanna is an event planner. Voila, my wedding planner.
Grabbed some pictures from Jen's site.
