What does a couple do on a cold, blustery Friday night? Go out and party til the break of dawn? Stay in and get cozy in front of the TV?
Or...
Revert to childhood and play with TRANSFORMERS!

We sat on the floor like kids and started moving parts around, trying to figure out where to tuck in that extra robotic arm or how to open up a truck without breaking off the wheels. Reggie was an expert, opening things up efficiently with nimble fingers. I was afraid I'd break something. But I got the hang of it after a while and really enjoyed it. I was riveted! It was like putting together a puzzle - get everything in the right place and voila! A helipad or a bug or a big robot! I'm sure the robot has a specific name but the only Transformer name I know is Optimus Prime. I didn't even know he was a good guy. Anway, I digress. I can totally see why kids loved Transformers and have grown up having good memories of it.
We also did a different kind of transforming Friday. Earlier that day, we went to Ikea. We brought home meaningless pieces of wood and transformed them into useful storage spaces.

This isn't really the bench we got. We got a bench as wide as the bed that goes at the foot of it. The pic is close enough.
I love making the room look nice.
